Move over Paul Henderson, you’ve got company. Sidney Crosby scored one of the biggest goals in Canadian
hockey history, netting the winner 7:40 into overtime to give Canada the Olympic gold medal on home ice.
Jonathan Toews, named the tournament’s top forward, and Corey Perry also scored for Canada, which won its
second Olympic gold in three tries.

Corey Perry scored twice and Ryan Getzlaf added a goal and two assists as Canada moved into the
semifinals with an emphatic win. The Canadians started fast, scoring all seven of their goals in the first
half of the game.

Jarome Iginla scored twice as Canada set up a Wednesday quarter-final against Russia. Joe Thornton,
Shea Weber, Sidney Crosby, Mike Richards, Scott Niedermayer and Rick Nash added goals, while Eric Staal had
three assists.

Canada twice erased one-goal deficits in the first two periods, but could not climb out of a
two-goal hole as the Americans handed Canada its first loss. Eric Staal, Dany Heatley and Sidney Crosby
scored for Canada.

Canada outshot the Swiss 47-23, but lost a 2-0 lead and needed Martin Brodeur’s shootout heroics and
Sidney Crosby’s goal in the fourth round to escape with a win and avoid a shocking repeat of 2006.

Jarome Iginla scored a hat trick to pace the offence as Canada rolled to a win. The Canadians did
their damage in the final 40 minutes, scoring three times in the second period and eight more in the
