TORONTO – The 10th International Coaches Conference, presented by Hockey Canada, gets under way Thursday
at the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto. This three day event held July 6th-9th will attract over 250 coaches
from varying levels from across the world as they attend presentations and seminars put on by some of
hockey’s top coaches.
With some spots still available, the cost for attending the full four-day conference is $400. To sign up

This year’s event will feature keynote speaker Richard Peddie, President and CEO of Maple Leaf Sports and
Entertainment. Mr. Peddie will open up the 2006 International Coaches Conference on Thursday, July 6th at the
Westin Harbour Castle’s Frontenac room at 7:00pm (ET) – media
availability with Mr. Peddie will follow

- Melody Davidson (Head Coach, Canada’s National Women’s Team)

- Craig Hartsburg (Head Coach, Canada’s National Junior Team)
- Dr. Peter Jensen (Sports Psychologist, Canada’s National Women’s Team)

Included among the delegates in attendance will be 68 coaches for all of Canada’s provincial and
territorial male and female teams for the 2007 Canada Winter Games, as well as the coaching staff for
Canada’s Women’s Under-22 Team, National Women’s Team, Men’s Under-18 Team, and National Junior Team.

THE INTERNATIONAL COACHES CONFERENCE
This is the 10th International Coaching Conference that Hockey Canada hosts every second year. Alberta
hosted the first four events in 1989, 1990, 1992 and 1994. Toronto, Ontario hosted the Conference in 1996,
Saint John, New Brunswick served as host in 1998, Vancouver served as host in 2000, Montreal, Quebec in 2002
and most recently Calgary hosted the event in 2004.
