TORONTO – The 2006 Canadian Hockey Foundation Celebrity Classic Gala Fundraiser and Golf Tournament will
be held in Toronto on July 10th and 11th to raise money for the Foundation’s endowment program. This special
two day event provides benefactors with a once in a lifetime opportunity to celebrate Team Canada’s recent
gold medal victories while raising money to invest in the future of our game.
Corporate tables and tickets to the Gala on July 10th at the Westin Harbour Castle and the Golf Tournament
on July 11th at the Club on Bond Head are still available for purchase.

This year’s honourees in attendance at the Canadian Hockey Foundation Celebrity Classic Gala on July 10th
in Toronto are:
- The 2006 IIHF World Junior Champions, won Canada’s first back to back gold medals since 1996/1997 with a

The Gala on July 10th will be hosted by TSN’s Gord Miller and Pierre McGuire in Toronto at the Westin
Harbour Castle. Supporters attending the gala fundraiser will be present for the championship ring
presentation, and will spend a memorable evening with this outstanding group of athletes. Other well known
Hockey Canada Alumni, including members of the 2005 National Junior team and other sports personalities will
round out the field of celebrity participants in attendance. The following day, on July 11th, all of the 2006
honourees will join sponsors and patrons for a golf tournament at the Club on Bond Head.
The Canadian Hockey Foundation currently governs over three million dollars in endowment assets and
manages over $200,000 per year in annual gifts. To date, the Canadian Hockey Foundation has made over
$500,000 in grants to Hockey Canada supporting a wide range of activities; including athlete support, alumni
recognition, and the creation of next generation hockey development programs. Major new initiatives include
supporting the growth of the female hockey nationwide and providing opportunities for new Canadians and
underprivileged youth to participate in organized hockey.
