Halifax, Nova Scotia - The Canadian Hockey Association announced Thursday the appointment of Chris Larsen
as Event Manager of the IIHF 2003 World Junior Hockey Championship, being held in Halifax December 26, 2002 -
January 5, 2003.
Well-known to the Halifax business and sporting communities, Larsen brings to the position a background in
sales, marketing and event management. Most recently, he has been working in marketing as President and Owner
of Larsen Marketing Solutions.
Larsen was Director of Sales, Atlantic Canada with Canada Post Corporation for five years and held the
position of Director of Sales, Atlantic Canada with Canadian Airlines for twelve years.
Larsen is also the Chair, Host Committee for the 2002 Royal Bank Cup, Junior "A" hockey's National
Championship, that will be held in Halifax May 4 to 12, 2002.
Larsen will be based in Halifax for this position.

said Bob Nicholson, President, Canadian Hockey Association. "Chris will work closely with the business and
sporting communities in Halifax, as well as with the numerous sponsors, staff and volunteers. He will bring
together the many logistics needed to make the World Juniors a world-class event in 2003."
"Since Halifax was chosen to host the World Junior Hockey Championship last December, we've all been
working hard," said Fred MacGillivray, Chair of the Host Committee for the 2003 World Junior Hockey
Championship. "We're really looking forward to working with Chris to make this the greatest sporting event
Halifax and the Province of Nova Scotia has ever seen!"
